Recently, thanks to Google Earth, some kite-like structures were also discovered in the north-west of South Africa. They are located in the Nama-Karoo semi-desert, about 22 kilometres north of the town of Keimoes. These kites do not appear to be as old as their counterparts in the north of the continent. Comparisons with other structures that have already been dated suggest an age of between 1,000 and 1,500 years.
