Stone circles from prehistoric times are not uncommon in the deserts of North Africa and Arabia. In the western part of the Arabian Peninsula, the circle is often associated with a triangle that points in the direction of the circle like an arrowhead. In some places there is a connecting line between the circle and the triangle, which makes the whole thing look like a pendulum or a pendant. Why did people create such structures thousands of years ago? Were these stone circles tombs or places of power?
