Algeria, Mauretania, Mali: El Hank / El Eglab / Erg Chech

Although these areas are spread over three countries, they are grouped together here in one chapter. Due to their neighbouring location, divisions would be purely arbitrary and in the times of the kite hunters, the whole region probably formed a geographical and cultural unit.

There are essentially two kite types here. Both the short structures, as can be found primarily in the Algerian Central Sahara, and the long curved arches, as in northern Libya.

Algeria: Tindouf / Bechar

There have been relatively few finds between Toundouf and Bechar so far. I guess I still have a lot of searching to do there in the near future.
